Jon Favreau Entering Disney’s The Magic Kingdom

Apparently at one point in its existence, a movie based on Disney’s “The Magic Kingdom” was being written by Ron Moore of “Battlestar Galactica” fame. Yes, that same Ron Moore. I don’t even wanna think about what kind of wacky, “gritty”, and depressing stuff Moore came up with involving poor Mickey Mouse and Goofy. Brrrr.

But the people who run the Mouse House have found their senses, it would appear, and have set Jon Favreau to develop a feature film based on “The Magic Kingdom”, described as Disney’s version of Fox’s “Night at the Museum”. So what, once the Magic Kingdom closes, the talking animals come alive? Or something like that, presumably.

In any case, Disney is moving slow on the project, so it’ll be a while yet before anything starts happening.
