“90210” and “Hawaii Five-O” have recently been rebooted (and am I the only one who remembers “Knight Rider 2000”?), the second take of “Charlie’s Angels” just announced their cast, and now it is time to meet the first new member of the cast of TNT’s upcoming revamp of “Dallas”. Jordana Brewster, of “The Fast and the Furious” fame, is set to star in the pilot.

This isn’t simply going to be a reimagining of the steamy prime-time soap that ran from 1978 to 1991. Brewster is going to be part of the younger, sexier generation of the greedy, spoiled Ewing family. “Dallas” veterans Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray are going to return to their roles as Bobby and Sue Ellen, and Larry Hagman has reportedly stated that he intends to return as the tyrannical J.R.

The pilot, from writer Cynthia Cidre and Warner Horizon, centers on the offspring of bitter rivals and brothers J.R. and Bobby Ewing—J.R.’s son, John Ross, and Bobby and Pam Ewing’s adopted son, Christopher—who clash over the future of the Ewing dynasty while the fate of Southfork itself weighs in the balance. Brewster will play Elena, the gorgeous daughter of the ranch’s cook who is locked into a love triangle with Christopher and John.

Hell, I’ll watch almost anything with Patrick Duffy. I’ve seen more “Step by Step” and “Man From Atlantis” than I’m proud of.
