Joseph Gordon-Levitt Decides to Visit Sin City 2 Instead of Outer Space

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For Comic Book CoverIt’s good to be Joseph Gordon-Levitt these days.

The “Looper” and “The Dark Knight Rises” actor seems to have his pick of projects, and after rumors had him being offered the male lead in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy”, the actor has now officially joined the cast of Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s “Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For”, announces Dimension Films.

Gordon-Levitt will play Johnny in the upcoming comic book sequel. Described as “a cocky gambler who disguises a darker mission to destroy his most foul enemy at his best game”, Johnny is an original character created specifically for “Sin City 2”, which is currently in production with Rodriguez and Miller, who created the comic book franchise, directing down in Austin.

As for the plot of the sequel, it is said to “weave together two of Miller’s classic stories with new tales in which the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more repulsive inhabitants.”

“Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For” will also star Jessica Alba, Jamie Chung, Alexa Vega, Rosario Dawson, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Jaime King, Michael Madsen, and Dennis Haysbert.

We still have no idea who is playing Ava, though…

The dame and the men who want her hit theaters October 4, 2013.
