Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Premium Rush (2012) Movie Image

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a daredevil bicyclist in David Koepp’s “Premium Rush”. It’s about bicycle messengers in New York City. Then a crooked cop played by Michael Shannon shows up. Plus Jamie Chung as a very cute damsel-in-distress. Meanwhile, former “Heroes” star Dania Ramirez is like a totally bitching fellow messenger who takes no crap from anyone, particularly slow cabbies. Did I mention it’s about daredevil bicyclists in New York City? Yeah, not exactly the stuff of legends, that premise. I wonder how long it took JGL to learn how to ride his bike so well? That would make for an interesting behind-the-scenes featurette…

Dodging speeding cars, crazed cabbies, open doors, and eight million cranky pedestrians is all in a day’s work for Wilee (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), the best of New York’s agile and aggressive bicycle messengers. It takes a special breed to ride the fixie — super lightweight, single-gear bikes with no brakes and riders who are equal part skilled cyclists and suicidal nutcases who risk becoming a smear on the pavement every time they head into traffic.

But a guy who’s used to putting his life on the line is about to get more than even he is used to when a routine delivery turns into a life or death chase through the streets of Manhattan. When Wilee picks up his last envelope of the day on a premium rush run, he discovers this package is different. This time, someone is actually trying to kill him.

Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Shannon, Jamie Chung, Aasif Mandvi, and Dania Ramirez.

Feel the rush January 13, 2012.

Looks like it will be all slick visuals and lame story.

Not sure. I almost skip the trailer because of Nix’s sarcasm, but when I watched it… I actually felt some rush.

Visuals are going to be stunning, so the script is the rest. Will it be a good story or a everyday cliche?.

    JGL is a plus, btw.
