Okay, so maybe I added the “kinda dumb” part, but have you seen the trailers for this thing? Sheesh. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who plays Cobra Commander in the movie, says Stephen Sommers’ much-maligned “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra” has nothing to do with reality, and that it’s all about archetypes. I think that’s movie parlance for, “Hey, you gotta pay the bills, right?” And yes, today is a slow news day. Anyways, that bit of non-news news is brought to you from the folks at ScifiWire.
Below is the latest poster featuring Rachel Nichols as Scarlett. Haven’t seen or heard much from Scarlett, which is a surprise, as I thought she was the female lead in the movie. If the trailers are any indication, I don’t think she does a whole lot in the entire movie except scream at monitors and look horrified at having to act next to Marlon Wayans. Can’t blame the girl. Those Wayans boys can be pretty horrific at times. I don’t think she even gets to duke it out with the Baroness. That looks like supermodel-turned-actress Karolina Kurkova in the trailers fighting with the Baroness.
Starring Channing Tatum, Dennis Quaid, Dwayne Johnson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Brendan Fraser, Rachel Nichols, Sienna Miller, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Christopher Eccleston, Arnold Vosloo, Marlon Wayans, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Saïd Taghmaoui, Byung-hun Lee, and directed by Stephen Sommers.
Scarlett and the Joes introduce their silly worlds to us August 7.
