I mean really, really bad. See, this is why I never go on road trips with my friends. Or family. Or anyone I know. Ever. Bad things always end up happening.

And yes, I really do hope think they didn’t just give away the film’s ending toward the end of the trailer. But hey, maybe I’m wrong. Judge for yourself by watching the first trailer for Kevin Goetz and Michael Goetz’s “Scenic Route” starring Josh Duhamel and Dan Fogler below. Talk about a bad trip! Heh. See what I did there? Ahem.

Mitchell (Josh Duhamel) and Carter (Dan Fogler), life-long friends who have drifted apart, are on a road trip when their old pickup breaks down, leaving them stranded on an isolated desert road. Nobody can pick apart a man like his best friend, and as the relentless elements of the desert grind them down, they start to attack each other’s life decisions with unwavering brutality. As they question who they are and who they could have been, their agitation leads to physical confrontation and ultimately knife-wielding madness, and what begins as an inconvenience becomes a very real life or death struggle.

Also starring Miracle Laurie, Christie Burson, Peter Michael Goetz, and Jamie Donovan.

“Scenic Route” will be available on VOD July 26, 2013, before opening in theaters the following month on August 23, 2013, and finally landing on DVD September 24, 2013.
