Take a Look at Josh Hutcherson’s Spider-Man Audition Tape

Before 27-year old Andrew Garfield puts on the nerd costume to play pimply faced high school “teen” Peter Parker, here’s your first look at what Josh Hutcherson would have done in the role had he been cast by Sony instead of Garfield. Via Latino Review, who got their hands on the 3-minute audition tape featuring Hutcherson, with action choreography by Larnell Stovall, who also did the Scott Adkins fight movie “Undisputed 3” and the recent “Mortal Kombat 3” show reel that set the Internets all ablaze a little while back.

So what do you think? Did Sony make the right choice? Of course, it’s hard to say without seeing Garfield’s audition tape, too. The guy could have killed in it. There has to be a reason Sony and Marc Webb chose him, right?

Me, I kinda like the fact that Hutcherson is so physically un-imposing, reminds me of Spider-Man himself, who always looked tiny and small compared to all the other superheroes and villains he faces in the comics. Plus, Hutcherson certainly has the pimples down, heh.
