Joss Whedon Responds to Buffy Reboot Plans

It’s been less than 24 hours since we learned the people who owns the rights to the Buffy universe plans to reboot the movie franchise without Joss Whedon’s input (at least for now). Michael Ausiello over at Entertainment Weekly (it’s entertainment … on a weekly basis! Except on the Internet, ahem) went to the source himself, and in an email interview, asked Whedon what he thought of the news.
Replies a clearly pissed off Whedon:
I hope it’s cool.
Okay, maybe not so much pissed off. Very diplomatically, actually. After all, the same people who are making the reboot also owns rights to the character, and whose to say they can’t get a little petty and deny Whedon future usage of the character if he comes out against them? Guy’s got a whole series of comic book and other Buffy-related merchandises out there to think about, you know.
But it sure would be nice if Whedon was offered and accepted a role in the reboot…

Okay so let me get this straight, you made amovie of a property, and it sucked…bad. But the crator of said property rebooted it 5 years later as a tv show and it blew up Hiroshima style, and spawned a spinoff AND comics, so now you wanna reboot it again for the big screen without the person who made it the juggernaut that it is…good luck with that seriously. The fans will assassinate you before you even get itcasted. I say remake the original to connect more closely to the show. But hey what do we know right, we only made the show what it is.

Does anyone know who might star on it? I would like it if the original buffy cast did. that would just be so awesome!
Ok So very pissed, but if you are not going to use Gellar, try Lohan as Buffy not a huge fan but she has the skills to convey the witty personality of the Character buffy that Josh and Sarah birthed. The original cast would be awesome with Gellar of coarse!!!
