Joyride 2: End of the Road Headed to a DTV Shelf Near You
Horror Movie News, Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead (2008) Movie — By Nix on September 18, 2007
Hunh. They’re making a sequel to the 2001 John Dahl slasher flick “Joyride”, and they’re calling it “Joyride 2: End of the Road”. Hunh. I have to admit, I kind of liked the original. It was a little movie that really didn’t do a whole lot for most people, or made much of an impact at the box office, but I liked it for two things: It really moved well, and Paul Walker was kept in check, meaning that Dahl refused to let the mannequin “act”. For some reason, I really liked it, but I’m not too enthused about the sequel, mostly because the big names from the original (Walker, Steve Zahn, and Leelee Sobieski, not to mention director John Dahl) won’t be coming back. I could do without Walker, but bringing back Zahn’s brother character is a MUST!
More about the sequel from Moviehole:
n “Joyride 2 : End of the Road”, four young adults (Melissa, Bobby, Kayla, Nik), on the road to a concert in Las Vegas take a lethal side trip — and when their beater of a car breaks down, they make the fatal error of stealing a car belonging to depraved, homicidal, sadistic, maniacal, sociopathic trucker Rusty Nail…
The project — likely a direct-to-video project — was penned by James Robert Johnston and Bennett Yellin (”˜’Dumb and Dumber”).
Ha. The killer’s name is Rusty Nail. That’s priceless.
