Julianne Moore’s Shelter Gets a New Title and Trailer

Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys Meyers in 6 Souls (aka Shelter, 2010) Movie Image

Hey, remember that movie “Shelter” starring Julianne Moore? Yeah, me neither. The film first surfaced way back in 2010 with a trailer when it was still going by “Shelter”, but it’s now gotten a new spiffy trailer and a new title, “6 Souls”, and has located a limited theatrical run, though like most heavily delayed movies these days, you’ll be able to stream it way before it hits theaters. It still stars Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, though, in case you’re wondering.

Bonus points: this film was the Hollywood debut of Swedish duo Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein (I mean, how could they be anything but Swedish with those names?), who went on to direct the most recent “Underworld” movie with Kate Beckinsale, “Awakening”.

After the death of her husband, Dr. Cara Harding’s (Julianne Moore) faith in God has been shaken, but not her belief in science. In an attempt to open her up to accepting unexplainable psychiatric theories, her father introduces her to Adam, a patient with multiple personalities who takes on some of the physical characteristics of his other personalities. But, Cara quickly discovers that Adam’s other personalities are murder victims and the more she finds out about him and his past, the closer she and her loved ones are to becoming murder victims themselves.

Interested? You’ll be able to watch it on iTunes this March 1st before the film hits theaters in limited release April 5th.

I am really wondering why “Shelter” comes to the US so late. Here in Europe the movie is long out and can say that it is one of the best mysterythrillers in recent years. Especially Jonathan Rhys Meyers scares your ass down to the ground. Can`t wait to see him as Dracula in the NBC series.
