Julie Benz Joins Punisher: War Zone

Fresh off the Rambo boat, Julie Benz is jumping into the Punisher business, according to the blokes over at MovieHole. There is no word on who Benz will be playing, but since we’ve only heard of guys landing roles in the “War Zone” cast so far, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Benz will be playing the sequel’s female lead. Or, actually, as much a “female lead” as possible in a movie based on a comic that is known mostly for a guy with a skulls head shirt walking around blowing everyone and everything into smithereens. Hey, that sounds kinda like Rambo! Hmm, Julie Benz must have a thing for uber violent guys.

Continuing his crusade to punish violent criminals in America, former FBI agent Frank Castle (now played by Ray Stevenson) arrives in New York to take on a underworld boss (Jigsaw) who plots to take control of the underworld.

Lexi Alexander directs the sequel.
