Julie Benz to Get Butchered in Saw 5

You know, for the life of me, I’ll never understand what you kids see in the “Saw” franchise. Unless it’s all the gore and endless killing. Okay, I sort of see what you kids see in it. Senseless butchering can be fun if done exactly on Halloween. Now it appears as if Julie Benz will be the next vict — er, I mean, leading lady to join the latest sequel, “Saw 5″, set to be released, of course, on Halloween. Since all the previous directors have gone on to bigger and better things, the franchise now falls to David Hackl, a production designer on the previous films. Yes, that’s right, the “Saw” movies have gotten so low they are now hiring their production designers to direct the sequels.

Variety doesn’t know much about Benz’s character, except to say that she’s “an elegant woman”.

Julie Benz will be jumping into “Saw 5″ from “Punisher: War Zone”, and before that, “Rambo 4″.

Wait, you know, I’m starting to see a pattern here. Julie Benz has gone from loving a killing machine living in Burma to a vigilante with more blood on his hands than a seasoned butcher, and now Jigsaw, or whoever is currently killing for him. And didn’t she just get out of a relationship on TV with some dude name Dexter who likes to hack into serial killers?

Seriously, Julie, seek help!

The Hollywood Reporter adds this tidbit:

Benz has been cast as a Brit with clothes and hair too proper and elegant to be a pawn in Jigsaw’s latest games. Tobin Bell will return as Jigsaw.

Seriously, that Jigsaw guy is harder to kill than Jason.
