The intercutting between the Spinosaurus river attack and Barney as well as the phone ringing in the Spinosaur's stomach were bad jokes and felt like they didn't belong and ruined any suspense. On the whole, though, it was an enjoyable adventure film. I do hope any further films go back to a more serious tone like the first film. Also, I am still dissappointed that my personal favourite, the Dilophosaurus (that killed the overweight Nedry in the first film), still has not returned in the franchise.
