Hey, fans of rampaging dinosaurs, rejoice, because Universal has officially dated the fourth installment in the “Jurassic Park” franchise. What’s more, the studio has also given it an official title — “Jurassic World” — along with a snazzy logo, which you can glimpsed above.
“Jurassic World”, which will be in 3D (of course), now has an official release date of June 12, 2015.
Steven Spielberg, who directed the first two movies in the franchise before giving way to Joe Johnston on the third one, will return to produce (which means they’ll be able to use his names in all the promotional materials), with “Safety Not Guaranteed’s” Colin Trevorrow taking over directing duties.
While we don’t know exactly what “Jurassic World” will be about, I’m going to go out on a limb and say it will involve rampaging dinosaurs, one of which will probably be a T-rex, along with a bunch of annoying humans (including a couple of kids, at least) running from said rampaging dinosaurs. The bad guys will then get chomped, while the kids (and possibly their parents) evade and ultimately escape with their lives intact. After all, kids always survive rampaging dinosaurs. They’re precocious that way, donchaknow.
