Justin Marks to Rewrite McG’s Nemo
Captain Nemo: 20000 Leagues Under the Sea (Remake) Movie — By Nix on February 12, 2009
If you don’t know the name Justin Marks, that’s probably because you still think actors make up their own lines as the movie goes along, because you’re sad that way. Justin Marks is a Hollywood screenwriter who has either written or been attached to every comic book or genre movie that is currently moving along on that slow track called Hollywood’s development assembly line. Or at least, it seems that way. I could be exaggerating, of course, but let’s just go with it for now. His latest gig is to rewrite the script for McG’s remake of “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo”, a film that McG thinks Will Smith would be great in as the lead. Cause, you know, he’s optimistic like that.
According to Variety, Marks will be re-writing a script by Bill Marsilii. Among his credits, Marks has dipped his pen on “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe,” “Voltron: Defender of the Universe,” “Street Fighter” and the Green Arrow movie, “Supermax”.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that Marks boarding “Nemo” is going to make it better or worst, since the only big Hollywood movie he’s written that is even close to being released is the “Street Fighter” movie with Kristin Kreuk, and the kids aren’t exactly feeling all wow’ed by that one, at least from the trailers.
Below: These guys look pretty psyche about Marks rewriting the script.
