Kate Beckinsale’s latest movie role will take her to the cold frozen tundras of Antarctica, where she’ll play a U.S. Marshal sent to the frozen continent to investigate its first homicide. Apparently no one has ever been murdered there, and Kate, as Carrie Stetko, gets the (not altogether) cozy assignment. The problem? There is only 3 days left until a 6-month winter sets in, forcing Carrie to work fast and catch the killer, lest she get stuck in a 6-month long darkness with him, or her, or it. (Hey, it could be a penguin. You never know.)
Starring Kate Beckinsale, Gabriel Macht, Tom Skerritt, and directed by Dominic Sena, whose last movie was 2001’s “Swordfish”.
According to HNR, the movie is currently shooting in Montreal and Manitoba. The movie is based on the comic book of the same name by Greg Rucka/Steve Lieber for ONI Press.
Here’s the movie poster, which is apparently inspired by a Frank Miller drawn cover for the comic book. (How “photoshoppy” does the poster look?)
