Kinda. Sorta. Okay, so not really. But you will see Kate Beckinsale and her Selene character at the beginning and at the end of “Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans”, because according to the boyos at Shock Til You Drop, the producers will be reusing scenes from Len Wiseman’s first “Underworld” movie to bookend the latest installment. That means Kate, in tight black leather, will open and close the film, probably re-using the voiceover narration about the ongoing war between Lycans and vampires or some such as well.
This from STYD:
Today, ShockTillYouDrop.com had the opportunity to swing on down to Luma Pictures in Venice, California where director Patrick Tatopoulos previewed a number of scenes from his upcoming Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. While there, we got to talking with one crew member who revealed the threequel will open and close with Selene (as played by Kate Beckinsale). When asked if it was new footage, we were told it was a scene from Len Wiseman’s 2003 Underworld that will be used to bookend the film.
Couldn’t they have convinced Kate Beckinsale to come back and do a day or two? Heck, her husband is producing the movie, and according to some behind-the-scenes pictures, he’s actually there on set doing actual producing. Maybe ol Len doesn’t quite have the pull with the old lady as we thought…
Below: “See, Len, like I tell ya, sometimes you just gotta choke a bitch. Know what I mean?”
