Ah, love at first hostage. Haven’t we all been there? Huh? Kids? That’s what apparently happens to Kate Winslet’s character in director Jason Reitman’s “Labor Day”, two trailers and poster for which you can check out below if you’re so inclined.

I’m a fan of Reitman. He’s done some really interesting movies. Even his last movie, “Young Adult”, which was mostly a miss for audiences, I thought was a very good comedy, the kind that totally ruins your expectations of romcoms. Seriously, you think it’s going one way, and it completely goes another. Great ending, too. “Juno”, “Thank You for Smoking”, all really interesting projects. It looks like “Labor Day” might be another one.

LABOR DAY centers on 13-year-old Henry Wheeler, who struggles to be the man of his house and care for his reclusive mother Adele while confronting all the pangs of adolescence. On a back-to-school shopping trip, Henry and his mother encounter Frank Chambers, a man both intimidating and clearly in need of help, who convinces them to take him into their home and later is revealed to be an escaped convict. The events of this long Labor Day weekend will shape them for the rest of their lives.

Starring Kate Winslet, Josh Brolin, Gattlin Griffith, Tom Lipinski, Clark Gregg, Alexie Gilmore, Lucas Hedges, Brighid Fleming, James Van Der Beek, Maika Monroe, Brooke Smith, Micah Fowler and Tobey Maguire.

Get held hostage this Christmas.
