Watching these trailers (and I suspect, the movie itself) for Francis Lawrence’s “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is really interesting. Not because of the movie, which I’ll admit, looks very good, but because of all the tech that’s on display, like the ships and holographic training and whatnot. The books are very scant on the details. Oh, you get a LOT about Katniss’ girly emotions, but you get almost zero ideas about how the world of Panem actually WORKS in terms of tech. Of course, you can’t get away with that in the movies, so this is definitely one of those cases where the movies will vastly IMPROVE on the original source material in my opinion.
In any case, check out a new Japanese trailer for “Catching Fire”. It’s fire-ific.
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
