Does Keanu Reeves still know kung fu post “The Matrix”? Maybe, maybe not, but word from the boys at Joblo.com is that the former The One may be itching to reclaim his former glory by appearing in a new Asian movie tentatively titled “Tai Chi Tiger”. The movie would boast the martial arts choreography of Yuen Wo Ping, who taught Keanu Reeves how to fight in “The Matrix” trilogy, and possibly be directed by a man name Tiger Chen. But wait, there’s more!
Joblo.com adds this:
Keanu won’t be our savior this time though — apparently he wants to play the villain.
Joblo.com quotes an article on wu-jing.org, which has more information on the movie:
While in Seoul promoting his latest movie Street Kings, Keanu Reeves, during an interview, becomes especially excited on the mention of Yuen Wo Ping. He says he met Yuen Wo Ping, whom he addresses as master or Eighth Master in Cantonese, in Beijing around half a year ago to discuss a kungfu movie, tentatively called Tai Chi Tiger. He’d play a villain character. Tiger Chen Hu will play the lead as a Tai Chi master.
A word of warning, though. Wu-Jing.org is quoting interviews from the Chinese online site Sina.com, which is not exactly the most reliable thing on the net, despite being a pretty big news portal in China. No, let me rephrase that — 9 out of 10 things that show up in Sina.com involving Western actors turn out to be made-up bullshit.
But Keanu as a villain? Intriguing…
