Already scheduled to play the human villain in Michael Bay’s “Transformers: Age of Extinction”, former “Boss” star Kelsey Grammer will now also play an ex-mercenary in Sly Stallone’s “The Expendables 3”.
Apparently Grammer will be taking over the role previously attached to Nicolas Cage. Go figure, Cage would skip on the movie. The guy hasn’t skipped on anything in the last ten years, but he decides to skip “The Expendables 3”? I guess the paycheck wasn’t enough to buy whatever crazy thing he was looking to buy at the time.
In any case, Grammer will play, of all things, an ex-mercenary name Bonaparte, who “helps the Expendables in their mission.”
I assume that involves shooting people, or at least adding to the bodycount.
You don’t normally associate Grammer with tough guy movie roles, but he certainly changed that perception with Starz’s recently canceled “Boss”.
The in-production “The Expendables 3” is being directed by Patrick Hughes, and will star Sly Stallone, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Terry Crews, Antonio Banderas, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren and Wesley Snipes.
It’s currently set for August 15, 2014, unless they change their minds again, which is possible.
By the way, did you hear Terry Crews’ story about how Jason Statham almost died on the set of the film? Crews was on the Jay Leno show and told the story:
