Kevin Tancharoen Announces Mortal Kombat: Legacy Season 2

Mortal Kombat Legacy 2 Web Series

So wait, does this mean the “Mortal Kombat” reboot that Kevin Tancharoen was supposed to direct in the aftermath of his successful “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” web series is dead? Maybe. Maybe not. But it is curious that they’re going in this direction, which must mean the reboot is still a far ways off.

In any case, the big news from the land of Mortal Kombating is that Warner Bros. has greenlight Tancharoen to make another full season of “Legacy”, which according to Tancharoen, means we’ll be seeing the actual tournament and, you know, fighting and stuff. Makes sense, since the first season was essentially origin stories for the franchise’s popular characters and seemed to jump everywhere in time and space, depending on where the characters originated.

This time around, though, Tancharoen promises action, and in this announcement trailer for the upcoming season, reveals the fighters that will be battling. From the looks of it, it sounds like everyone will be invited to the party, including guys I have never even heard of. (Who was that little midget again?)
