Kick Ass Clips: Mistmobile and Suit Up

Two clips from “Kick Ass”. The first one has Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) taking Kick Ass (Aaron Johnson) for a spin in his “Mistmobile”. The second clip, from the movie’s Facebook site, features Kick Ass “suiting up” for action.

Based on the comic book by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., “Kick Ass” follows Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan with a few friends and who lives alone with his father. His life is not very difficult and his personal trials not that overwhelming. However, one day Dave makes the simple decision to become a super-hero even though he has no powers or training, and after fashioning himself a homemade costume, he goes out to fight crime. He later comes into contact with Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz) a teenage girl who is actually highly trained to fight crime (not to mention sporting the foulest mouth), and her father, ex-cop Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage). Together, they take on a mobster played by Mark Strong.

Co-starring Nicolas Cage, Mark Strong, Lyndsy Fonseca, Xander Berkeley, Clark Duke, Chloe Moretz, Michael Rispoli, Omari Hardwick, Adrian Martinez, Tim Plester, and Deborah Twiss. Matthew Vaughn directs.

Suit up April 16, 2010.

I so can’t wait for this. I do wish they stuck with the comicbook look for Bigdaddy. Basically having him look like Batman is just bad. All the other changes are fine though and it looks to be keeping pretty close the comic. Closer than the last Mark Millar comic to be made into a film “Wanted,” though all fanboy bitching aside that would not have translated well the way it was written in the comic. Walking piles of shit, insane and depraved supervillains, and the like. Nope the assassin route was smart. I love the comic but that would have been horrible.
