As some of you may know, Kiefer Sutherland and every TV actor/producer/network are currently throwing shindigs at the annual Television Critics Association to pimp their latest wear. Sutherland was there with “Touch”, which looks to be essentially “The Knowing” (with Nicolas Cage) minus, well, Nicolas Cage. (The show boasts Tim Kring of “Heroes” fame at the controls. If, you know, you’re a fan of Tim Kring, I mean. If not? Well, then I guess you won’t be too impressed with “Touch’s” pedigree.)
So what about that long-delayed “24” movie? Apparently it could start shooting as early as “at the end of April, beginning of May”. That’s from star Kiefer Sutherland himself. As for the timeline, the movie would take place “maybe six months from the end of [the Season 8 finale]”, with Jack Bauer off the grid — again.
Sutherland’s Bauer, of course, will return if a “24” movie ever gets made, but who else? According to “24” producer Howard Gordon, you can also count on Jack’s best buddy Chloe O’Brian (aka Mary Lynn Rajskub) to return as well. Unlike Jack and Chloe, everyone else in “24” is expendable, so I wouldn’t be surprise if they brought in an entirely new cast for the movie to kill off — er, I mean, interact with Jack and Chloe. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
But a “24” movie shooting by April? Sounds way too good to be true. And if “24” has taught me anything, that’s if something sounds or looks too good to be true, there’s usually a mole with a gun waiting to shoot you in the back. Dammit!
