Kirk and Not-Khan Get Intense in New Star Trek Into Darkness Clip

Benedict Cumberbatch and Chris Pine in Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) Movie Image

The new (and third) clip from J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek Into Darkness” finds Kirk confronting the film’s villain, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, who just drips so much villainy he should get an award for Best Villain That Drips Villainy. Chris Pine looks shockingly out of his depth going mano-a-mano with Cumberbatch. Then again, it’s hard to match up with a guy name Cumberbatch. That’s got to be one of the best names of all time. Cumberbatch. Cumberbaaaaaaaaaaaaatch.

Anyhoo. Enjoy the clip, enjoy the clippers.

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

“Star Trek Into Darkness” also stars Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Alice Eve, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Peter Weller and Bruce Greenwood.

Allowing it this May 17, 2013.
