According to Kristen Bell, while she and Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas (no, not the musician, the TV guy) are ready and willing to do a Veronica Mars movie, the folks at Warner Bros. aren’t having none of it. As in, they could care less about you Veronica Mars fans out there. But, says Bell (with what we can assume is a wink and a smile), if the fans get together and make their voices known to the WB, maybe, just maybe…
The Veronica Mars hottie relates the bad news to EW’s Michael Ausiello:
“I don’t think it will ever happen, and here’s why: [Series creator] Rob Thomas and I had a powwow, and we were both 100 percent on board. We took our proposal to Warner Bros. and Joel Silver told us that there is no enthusiasm [there] to make a Veronica Mars movie, and that is unfortunately a roadblock we cannot compete with.”
So there you have it. There is zero interest by Warner Bros. to make a Veronica Mars movie, and thus, it probably won’t happen. Of course, that doesn’t mean Warner Bros. might not change their their minds at a later date.
Here’s an idea for a letter writing campaign: send in Mars candy bars. Or, failing that, just crank call them. Works for me.
