Um….can I see this movie now?! Seriously, Quentin Tarantino knows how to assemble one hell of a cast. Earlier this month, it was revealed that Kevin Costner dropped out of Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” due to scheduling conflicts but well, we got someone much awesome. According to THR, Kurt Russell has replaced Costner in the role of Ace, a man who oversees the plantation in a ruthless manner and who relishes punishing slaves.
Russell joins a cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz.
In “Django Unchained”, the flick is set in the American South of the 1800s and follows a freed slave (Foxx) who partners with a German bounty hunter (Waltz) in order to find his wife, who is still not cast.
DiCaprio will play a Francophile plantation owner (named Calvin Candie) who forces slaves to compete in death matches and Jackson as a vile head slave who works for DiCaprio.
Meanwhile, “Kill Bill Vol. 2″ actress Laura Cayouette will reunite with her former director to play DiCaprio’s widowed sister, a southern belle who co-owns the plantation.
The spaghetti western will begin filming this November
