Kwik-E-Marts’ open for business

While I happen to be one of those guys that reckons The Simpsons has lost nearly all the charm it once possessed many years ago, there will always be a warm place in my heart for the show. In its ‘glory days’, I absolutely loved everything about the folks from Springfield, so while I’m not in a rush to see the movie, this news story does fill me with a sense of joy.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 7-Eleven Inc have turned a dozen of their stores into Kwik-E-Marts, with most of their other outlets selling iconic Simpsons products such as Buzz Cola, Krusty-O’s and of course Squishees!

I absolutely love marketing campaigns like this which go the extra mile to provide patrons with something interesting while promoting movies. I’ve been a little surprised recently, because The Simpsons Movie really hasn’t had a great deal of coverage, and there doesn’t appear to be much excitement for it. Granted the attention is on Transformers at the moment (and rightly so), but I am at least curious to see how well The Simpsons is received at the box office.
