Coach Taylor is leaving his clipboard behind on the rough and tumble plains of Central Texas to join the hunt for Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden. Or at least, he is in “Hurt Locker” director Kathryn Bigelow’s follow-up film, the as-yet-untitled, but they really should go with “Kill Bin Laden”.
Kyle Chandler joins a cast that already includes Jason Clarke, Joel Edgerton, Chris Pratt, Jessica Chastain, Mark Strong and Edgar Ramirez, about the United States’ hunt for the terrorist leader in the aftermath of 9/11. Chandler will play one of the CIA agents whose intelligence gathering led to members of Navy SEAL Team 6 finding and eventually busting a cap in ol Osama’s ass while he be chillin’ in a Pakistan safe house.
Bigelow is directing from a script by Mark Boal, who also wrote the Award-winning “Hurt Locker” with her.
The film is scheduled for release on December 19, 2012, because what says Christmas movie like the methodical hunt and assassination of a terrorist leader on foreign soil? Now that’s inspirational!
