The quality leaves a little to be desired, yes, but for those of us who have been curious about what, exactly, “The Thing” prequel is going to look like, the leaked trailer embedded below is of great interest. Of course, this thing — pun intended — isn’t going to last forever, so take a peek at the footage while you can.

Back in 1998 I met the great Jon Carpenter at Comicon in San Diego. My question to him was “Will there ever be a ‘Thing 2′ because the way you left us hanging I want to know will we ever find out if the Thing was in any of the last 2 survivors? He laughed and said “That’s exactly how I wanted leave it”. “No there will never be a part 2 but thank you for the compliment”. I wonder if he’s thrown in his 2 cents worth in the Prequel. I just hope they do as great a film that Mr. Carpenter did.
