So Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Superman and like every other character LEGO has ever gotten rights to are teaming up to save the world in the CG animated “The LEGO Movie”. Yes, an actual movie. Or actual-ish, anyway. “Guardians of the Galaxy’s” Chris Pratt is the voice of the average Joe (er, average LEGO?) who must save the world, with the help of LEGO Batman and others. It’s really, really weird, but then again, I always found the LEGO D.C. superhero movies to be weird, so that probably makes sense.
Check out the teaser trailer for diretors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s “The LEGO Movie” below. Oh, and a poster, too.
The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.
Starring Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Morgan Freeman, Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Nick Offerman and Alison Brie..
Assembling next year February 7, 2014.
