Lengthy Trailer for the Chinese Martial Arts Flick High Kickers

The plot for the upcoming Chinese martial arts movie “High Kickers” sounds a little goofy, but, truthfully, I don’t care. I really don’t. That’s because the promotional clip embedded below includes enough impressive fight footage to override my desire for a good story. Will I complain if the picture comes packaged with a digestible narrative? Not at all. However, it isn’t necessary, especially since kung fu veteran Gordon Liu is counted amongst the cast members. Yes, I know I’m pathetic.

But first, here’s the synopsis:

The Taekwondo club founder Zhao Yu Min was beaten down by the death of his favorite disciple Han Xu Feng who was killed in an illegal gambling boxing match. His club gradually goes into poor operation and loses most of the disciples. One day, a girl called Ling Ling comes to his club and pledges him to train her for the national championship of Taekwondo. Her persistence and sincerity starts to restart his yearning for the honor.

Upon the arrival of the new session of national Taekwondo competition, Zhao’s only accompanying disciple gets severely injured when confronting the personal challenge of the champion favorite Gao Zhi. Meanwhile, Ling Ling signs up for the men’s competition with the name Han Xu Feng. It turns out that she’s Han’s younger sister and her aim of participation surprises Zhao.

Nonetheless, Ling Ling’s hope for the championship seems so feeble in the face of her powerful opponent.

“High Kickers”, which also stars Shengyi Huang, Gordon Liu, Daniel Chan, and Mark Cheng, arrives in Chinese theaters next year. While you’re waiting, take a peek at the trailer below.

Typical misandric nonsense. The guy is unable to fight, so woman sign up for men’s competition to beat the crap out men? I am happy that I don’t have to watch anything out of today’s cinema.
