Leonardo Da Vinci: Action Hero?

It sure sounds like it, especially when you consider the proposed title: “Leonardo da Vinci and the Soldiers of Forever”. Now that’s the title of a grand, big-budget, expensive as all get-out action-adventure movie franchise if I’ve heard one. No doubt the idea behind the title is to hint at past popular action-adventure franchises like “Indiana Jones” and his various adventures, as well Jack Sparrow and his “Pirates of the Caribbean” crew. So what’s this one about? Well as the title already gives away, it’s a fictional “re-imagining” of the famous Italian artist and inventor Leonardo Da Vinci.

The idea behind the Warner Bros.-backed film will find Da Vinci as a member of a secret society that battles Biblical demons in stories involving secret codes, lost civilizations, hidden fortresses and fallen angels. Basically, everything Dan Brown has been making a mint off in his books, now producer Adrian Askarieh is trying to turn into a possible movie franchise. Askarieh came up with the idea, wrote a treatment, and now with the WB at his back, a writer is needed to turn the idea into an actual movie.

Re-envisioning famous real people from history as superhero-ish characters with contemporary spin isn’t new. Hollywood already has Marco Polo with Francis Lawrence in the wings, and of course there was that announced Doc Holliday movie.

He fights evil, demons, and angels, and in his free time, he paints. Guy's talented, what can I say.
