Before Leven Rambin was “one of the girls from ‘The Hunger Games'”, she was “that girl Fox tried to push on ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'”. You know, the girlfriend that you didn’t know John Connor had when he was a wee lad? Yeah, her.
Anyways, Rambin has since survived her “Sarah Connor Chronicles” forced casting, and has now signed up to join the cast of “Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters”, the sequel to 2010’s “Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief”.
Rambin will play Clarisse, daughter of Ares aka the God of War, and her character is described as being “skilled at battle and a perfectionist.” Hey, if you’re the daughter of the God of War, you better be skilled at battle, am I right? Don’t know about the perfectionist part, though.
Logan Lerman will reprise the role of Percy Jackson, the franchise’s young lead, along with Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson as his traveling/fighting companions. According to IMDB.com, Nathan Fillion and Anthony Head are also in the cast. Go figure. I hadn’t heard of that.
The awesomely named Thor Freudenthal will direct the film, which begins production later next week on location in Vancouver.
The first “Percy Jackson” was a moderate hit, earning $226 million in worldwide box office from a $95 million dollar budget. Not exactly a runaway success, even with the $37 million it made from DVD sales, but I guess Fox really wants a young adult franchise to call their own, so they’re going to give it another go.
