Liam Neeson and Mel Gibson are Still Cool Post-Hangover 2 Debacle

Liam Neeson and Mel Gibson are apparently old buddies. They once starred in a movie together (1984’s “The Bounty”), and I guess have kept in touch since, because after doing the cameo meant for Gibson in Todd Phillips’ “The Hangover 2″, Neeson called Gibson to chat about replacing him. According to Neeson, he didn’t even know he was replacing Gibson, who was famously booted from his cameo after the cast took offense to his presence.

“I spoke to Mel, Mel’s cool about it,” he told Access Hollywood. Neeson described the conversation as “very pleasant.”

Neeson also insisted he didn’t even know the part was destined for Gibson.

“I didn’t realize it at the time,” he said.

I actually believe Neeson that he didn’t know Gibson had lost the cameo role, mostly because I don’t see Neeson as the type of guy who keeps up with Hollywood gossip, and the cameo stuff happened pretty fast.

Anyways, just a little Hollywood gossip there for you kids. Move along, nothing to see here…
