You would think that by now people would stop abducting pretty girls when Liam Neeson’s around. Apparently the bad guys didn’t all get the meme, because a bunch of them are at it again. This time, though, Neeson’s a private investigator who does “favors” for people in exchange for money. Which is a great gig if you can get’em. The only thing I get when I do favors for people is annoyance, and let me tell you, that don’t pay the bills.
Anyways. Check out the trailer for the noir thriller “A Walk Among the Tombstones” from writer/director Scott Frank. It’s kinda like the “Taken” movies, except Liam Neeson isn’t related to these people. Or at least, I don’t think he is. Twist?
Based on Lawrence Block’s bestselling series of mystery novels, A Walk among the Tombstones stars Liam Neeson as Matt Scudder, an ex-NYPD cop who now works as an unlicensed private investigator operating just outside the law. When Scudder reluctantly agrees to help a heroin trafficker (Dan Stevens) hunt down the men who kidnapped and then brutally murdered his wife, the PI learns that this is not the first time these men have committed this sort of twisted crime…nor will it be the last. Blurring the lines between right and wrong, Scudder races to track the deviants through the backstreets of New York City before they kill again.
Starring Liam Neeson, Dan Stevens, David Harbour, and Boyd Holbrook.
Liam goes for a walk this September 19th.
