Lily Collins Drops Out of The Evil Dead

Lily CollinsThe role was hers if she wanted it, and apparently she did want it enough to start negotiations to front Sam Raimi’s “The Evil Dead” remake.

Not so fast, my friend.

Today brings news that Lily Collins (who has Tarsem Singh’s “Mirror Mirror” coming up) has dropped out of the remake due to “scheduling issues”, i.e. she’s so popular right now that she can choose any role she wants, and she doesn’t want to be in “The Evil Dead”.

Which means the film’s female lead is now available again…

Fede Alvarez will direct the reboot when it finally lands its cast. Diablo Cody of “Juno” fame recently penned a rewrite on the script. (I’ll leave it up to you to decide if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.)

By the way, I’ve just re-watched Lily Collins in “Priest” and “Abduction” and, um, I still don’t get it. I also barely remember her from “The Blind Side”. She made that much of an impression. I’m just sayin’…
