Universal landed Kristen Stewart as their Snow White a while back, but it’s taken Relativity Media now to officially find themselves “in negotiations” with “The Blind Side’s” Lily Collins for their own version of Snow White in “The Brothers Grimm: Snow White”.
Collins, who lost out on another Princess gig over at Bryan Singer’s “Jack the Giant Killer”, will join the recently cast Armie Hammer as the Prince and the originally cast Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen. All three will be taking directions from Tarsem Singh, who is coming off “Immortals”. Singh’s version will be darker than Universal’s, and will find Snow White joining forces with the familiar seven dwarfs to take back her kingdom from her evil stepmother.
No doubt hearing that Universal’s “Snow White and the Huntsman” had lost its Huntsman in Viggo Mortensen spurred Relativity to quickly land its Snow White in order to get their film into production first. Or at least, get into theaters first. After all, who needs two Snow White movies? Hollywood apparently thinks you do.
