Check out a rather awesome looking trailer for director William Eubank’s “The Signal,” which looks like a cross between an arthouse drama and the Japanese anime “Akira.” I knew nothing about “The Signal” coming in, but I’m now very anxious to find out more. Heck, even the official synopsis below just asks more questions, especially since it doesn’t jive whatsoever with the 2-minute trailer that’s just been release.

And what’s with the cow? Does it like blow up or something? I gotta find out!

Three college students on a road trip across the Southwest experience a detour: the tracking of a computer genius who has already hacked into MIT and exposed security faults. The trio find themselves drawn to an eerily isolated area. Suddenly everything goes dark. When one of the students, Nic (Brenton Thwaites of The Giver and Maleficent), regains consciousness, he is in a waking nightmare…

Starring Brenton Thwaites, Olivia Cooke, Beau Knapp, Laurence Fishburne, Lin Shaye, Robert Longstreet, and Jeffrey Grover.

The signal goes out this June 13th.
