Apparently Erik Van Looy’s “Loft”, a remake of the 2008 Belgian film of the same name, has been casting something furious for a while now. The latest addition is Rachael Taylor (probably best known to moviegoers from “Transformers”, though she’ll soon be camping it up (one hopes) on the new “Charlie’s Angels” TV series), who joins a cast that already includes Patrick Wilson, James Marsden, Wentworth Miller, Eric Stonestreet and Taylor’s fellow Aussie, Isabel Lucas.
The plot has the men playing “five married friends who share a loft where each brings his mistress. When the body of an unknown woman is found there, they begin to suspect one another of murder.”
New addition Taylor will play Ann, “a call girl who Wilson pays to seduce Marsden, who she then ends up falling for.”
Erik Van Looy, who directed the Belgian original (and who previously helmed a nice little thriller called “The Memory of a Killer”), will be calling the shots again in the Hollywood remake, this time working from a script by Wesley Strick of “Cape Fear” fame.
Here’s a trailer for the original another remake of the movie (yes, it’s already been remade once already in 2010):
