Colin Farrell is a very handy ex-con in William Monahan’s directorial debut “London Boulvelard”. If the name Monahan rings a bell, that’s because he’s the writer of “The Departed”, “Edge of Darkness”, and “Kingdom of Heaven”, to name just a few. He wrote and directed “London Boulevard”, a little crime ditty from the UK starring Farrell as one of those charming gangsters trying to go straight, but of course, his old gangster buddies refuse to let him, leading to much frustration and heads getting busted. Meanwhile, Keira Knightley plays a movie star who hires him to beat up some annoying paparazzi. I bet Colin loved doing that. Hell, he probably asked for additional takes. First UK trailer for the film below.
“London Boulevard” is the story of a man newly released from prison who falls in love with a reclusive young movie star and finds himself in a duel with a vicious gangster.
Starring Keira Knightley, Colin Farrell, Stephen Graham, Jamie Campbell Bower, Anna Friel, David Thewlis, Ray Winstone, and directed by William Monahan.
“London Boulevard” opens in the UK November 26, 2010, but won’t be arriving in the States until 2011 or thereabouts.
