If you’re not a big fan of the current crop of Found Footage movies, you can blame it all on Eduardo Sanchez and Daniel Myrick, the co-directors of 1999’s “The Blair Witch Project”. But if you happen to dig the Found Footage genre, well, you can thank them, then. Sanchez’s co-director Myrick resurfaced in 2008 with the horror outing “The Objective”, while Sanchez returns with the creepy “Lovely Molly”, which recently showed off its chills at SXSW last month. We’ve only seen a teaser and a spooky clip previously from the movie, but the full trailer now arrives. Dig it, won’t you?
When newlywed Molly Reynolds returns to her long-abandoned family home, frightful reminders of a nightmarish childhood begin seeping into her new life. She soon begins an inexorable descent into an evil that blurs the lines between psychosis and possession.
Starring Gretchen Lodge, Johnny Lewis, and Alexandra Holden.
“Lovely Molly” pays a visit on May 18th, 2012.
