Gary Shore’s “Dracula Untold” is less a horror movie and more of a fantasy/action flick from the looks of it. Or a comic book superhero origins movie. So in that sense I guess patterning it after Christopher Nolan’s “Batman Begins” was a good idea, including the movie’s title, which is really kind of stupid. “Dracula Untold”? I mean. Come on, guys.
Anyways, here’s the first trailer for “Dracula Untold,” which stars “Fast and Furious'” Luke Evans as the titular Drac, a prince of some type who decides the only way to save his kid and his little kingdom from a giant king and his giant kingdom is to become, well, a vampire, I guess. Though this vampire apparently can fight in the daytime and control giant hordes of bats like a hammer. A giant vampire bat hammer.
It looks interesting, in a, “Wow, why did they even call this a Dracula movie in the first place?” way. I still hope it does well, though, so Shore can then go and make his “Cup of Tears” movie.
Starring Luke Evans, Sarah Gadon, William Houston, Dominic Cooper, Samantha Barks, Ferdinand Kingsley, Charlie Cox, and Thor Kristjansson.
Beginning this October 17th.
