M. Night Shyamalan is re-teaming with his “Sixth Sense” and “Unbreakable” star Bruce Willis for a new movie. That’s the good news.
The bad news? It’s not the sequel to “Unbreakable” that we’ve all been waiting for and that Shyamalan has been stringing us along for years now. Instead, it’s … a drama about a guy who walks across the country in memory of his dead wife.
The movie will be based on a script Shyamalan wrote years ago in 1993 and sold, but never got the chance to make. I guess now he’ll get his chance.
In “Labor of Love,” Willis would play “a Philadelphia book store owner who loses the love of his life in a tragic accident. Never big on words, he becomes haunted by the notion that he never properly told his wife how much he loved her. Since she once asked if he would walk across the country for her, he decides to show her posthumously just how much he did love her. That trek starts from Philadelphia to Pacifica, CA, which was her favorite place.”
But does he at least end up fighting bad guys or ghosts and there’s a crazy twist, like his wife isn’t really dead and that he is the one who is dead? Something like that? No? Yes? Maybe?
I’d still rather have “Unbreakable 2″…
