Magdalena is a Cross Between Wanted and The Da Vinci Code (but Hopefully with Less Clothing)
Comic Book Movie News, Horror Movie News, Magdelana Movie — By Nix on August 28, 2009
It looks like Top Cow’s “Magdalena” is really moving along at a brisk pace, with its two leads already cast (Jenna Dewan and Luke Goss) and a director in Japanese wunderkind Ryuhei Kitamura onboard. So what’s next? Um, the script, for one. That’s the job of screenwriter Holly Brix, who recently talked to MTV about what she has plans for the movie, script-wise.
Says Brix:
It’s definitely a supernatural action movie, so I think ‘DaVinci Code’ is a good reference as far as all the Catholicism in it. But in addition to that story, it’s also a really straightforward action movie.
There’s not a lot of secret codes to unlock and that sort of thing.
She adds that while Dewan, who will play Patience in the movie, is the female lead, Goss’ Kristof, Patience’s trainer and mentor, will also have a big part, though apparently there won’t be any romantic entanglements between the two. The film, as expected, will be an Origins Story for Patience as she learns about her Godly heritage and trains to become the latest in a long line of Magdalena warriors, which according to the comic books, is clothing-averse.
MTV also has interviews with Dewan talking about the upcoming movie. What’s better than a hot girl talking about a comic book movie like she knows what she’s talking about? Good God, this is hot.

Ok I hadn’t really made any comments on this but I’ve read some of the comics and they’re pretty cool. Of course people are gonna be up in arms about the subject matter. But this actress couldn’t even give a descriprtion of the spear of destiny. But whatever she looks the part of a Top Cow heroine. LOL. At least the director is awesome.
