Maggie Grace Replaces SMG in McGee’s Alice?
American Mcgee's Alice (2009) Movie, Horror Movie News — By Nix on December 4, 2007
It was only last month (a few weeks ago, actually) that I reported that the big-screen movie version of the popular horror game “American McGee’s Alice” was finally set to commence production after years of waiting, with Sarah Michelle Gellar still starring. Now it seems that while the film will still move into production with Marcus Nispel directing, SMG will no longer be involved; instead, former Lost star Maggie Grace will replace her in the leading role.
Moviehole has the news via Page Six:
Sarah Michelle Gellar has been yanked as the title character in Alice, PageSix.com has learned. The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star was to headline in the latest “Eat me, Drink me” flick inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland stories. But now a source tells PageSix.com that casting directors are in talks with another actress, former Lost star Maggie Grace.
Notice that they said SMG was “yanked” — does that mean she was fired? Hmm. Why would you fire Sarah Michelle Gellar for Maggie Grace? I mean, Grace is a babe, but come on, she doesn’t have anything near the popularity or cache of SMG.
Alice is slated to jump down the rabbit hole Summer 2009.

i don’t really think a ’source’ from ‘page 6′ news is very reliable. theres still hope for smg (smp).
In an Interview in January She told Scifi she owned the movie rights
to Mcgee’s Alice So I would be a little suspicious of the statement
she was “yanked” off the project.
