Maggie Q. Whups Some Ass in New Priest Clip

New clip from Scott Stewart’s “Priest”, starring Maggie Q., who is currently kicking ass in “Nikita” on TVland, and will be bringing that same kickassness to the movies in “Priest”. Unfortunately the film seems to be generating very little buzz ahead of its May 13, 2011 release date. Which is too bad, because the film appeals to me on many levels, from its cast to its futuristic sci-fi/horror/comic book setting and story. Then again, I also thought Stewart’s “Legion” was pretty entertaining, and everyone seems to hate the crap out of that movie, so whatever, people.

Priest is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. Paul Bettany is Priest, a legendary warrior priest during the last Vampire War, who now lives in obscurity among the other human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities controlled by the Church. But when his 18-year-old niece is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires in the desolate wastelands outside, Priest breaks his sacred vows and ventures out to find her and seek vengeance upon those responsible, especially their brutal leader (Karl Urban). Priest is joined on his crusade by his niece’s boyfriend, Hicks (Cam Gigandet), a local outpost sheriff, and Priestess (Maggie Q), a member of his former legion of vampire-killers who has otherworldly fighting skills.

Also starring Paul Bettany, Cam Gigandet, Karl Urban, Lily Collins, Stephen Moyer, Mädchen Amick, Christopher Plummer, Brad Dourif, Casey Pieretti, Josh Wingate, and directed by Scott Stewart.

Priest is going to be so much better than Legion. Legion was just to slow and the Angel vs. Angel thing has been done (i.e. the Prophecy movies, Constantine and others). This has a much better casting and the storyline is more original.

however… this fighting scene is totally unrealistic (or am i taking things too serious?) :S

You’re not being unrealistic. This fight scene is completely boring and badly edited.
