Maggie Q. Will Kill Vampires with Paul Bettany
Comic Book Movie News, Horror Movie News, Priest (2010) Movie — By Nix on August 12, 2009
Casting Maggie Q. in a role where she’s required to look hot while kicking tons of ass is a no-brainer. See her previous gigs in “Live Free or Die Hard” and “Mission: Impossible 3″ for examples. Her latest gig, according to THR, is as a warrior priestess in the movie adaptation of the Tokyo Pop comic book “Priest”, set to star Paul Bettany as the titular warrior priest who must rescue his abducted niece from some vampire scumbags. The film is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is at war with vampires.
“Priest”, starring Bettany and Cam Gigandet as a sheriff who is also the lover of the kidnapped girl, is being adapted by Cory Goodman, and will be directed by Scott Stewart, who recently completed the horror-actioner “Legion”, also starring Bettany. The two apparently had such a blast working together that they’ve decided to continue the partnership into “Priest”.
Maggie Q., a former Asian-American model turned Hong Kong action star, has been spending a lot of time back in Asia doing epic movies, including 2008’s “Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon”. More recently, she was in the A-list erotic thriller “Deception”, and was featured prominently in the videogame “Need for Speed: Undercover”. Besides “Priest”, she’s got “The Warrior and the Wolf” and “King of Fighters” on the schedule.

One assumes the warrior priestess in the movie will wear, er, a little bit more clothes. Unfortunately.
