Point blank: I’ll watch anything that Brad Anderson releases, which is why I was pretty stoked to learn that Magnet is picking up US distribution rights for the insanely talented director’s upcoming thriller “Vanishing on 7th Street”. The film, which stars Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton, John Leguizamo, Taylor Groothuis, Jordan Trovillion, Arthur Cartwright, and Jacob Latimore, chronicles the exploits of a group of individuals who are curious as to what, precisely, happened to the rest of the human population. Apocalyptic tomfoolery ensues. In other words, I’m pumped.

Here’s what Anderson had to say about the acquisition:

Vanishing on 7th Street is an apocalyptic thriller about the end of the world and it could not be placed in better hands than with Magnet Releasing, whose expertise in distributing genre films is par none, I am excited to be working with them to bring the film to audiences across the country.

That’s what they all say. No word yet on when, precisely, the film will see darkened theaters here in the States, but my fingers are crossed that it’s very, very soon. Did you hear me, Magnet? Very, very soon.
