Malcolm McDowell Joins Silent Night, Deadly Night Remake

Malcolm McDowell“Silent Night”, director Steven C. Miller’s (“The Aggression Scale”) “loose” remake of the 1984 holiday horror classic “Silent Night, Deadly Night”, may have found its first star: Malcolm McDowell. The screen icon is in talks to play a small town sheriff named Cooper.

“I’m the good guy,” the “A Clockwork Orange” star said. “And I’m chasing the bad Santa.”

For those of you who don’t know “Silent Night, Deadly Night”, “The film focuses on a young boy who, after witnessing his parents’ brutal murder at the hands of a man clad in a Santa suit on Christmas, grows up tumultuously in a Catholic orphanage and slowly emerges into a spree killer himself.”

“Silent Night, Deadly Night” is a damn fine time, and definitely worth checking out.

Most widely known as a villain, or at least general creepy dude, McDowell is excited at the idea of playing a good guy.

“That’s one of the reasons I wanted to do it,” he said. “I’m happy to do it and I hope it’s going to be good.”

“Silent Night” is written by Jayson Rothwell (“Malice in Wonderland”), and should hit theaters this holiday season.
